On shop.atti.it, ATTI offers Eltra incremental encoders with various resolutions and output types, available for purchase online, as well as Eltra absolute encoders upon request for a quote, along with precision couplings for mounting them. Encoders convert rotary motion into an electric signal used by PLCs, counters, or drives to determine position and speed.
How do you choose an encoder?
To choose an encoder, you need: the type (incremental or absolute), the resolution, meaning the number of pulses or positions per revolution, the type of shaft (solid, to be connected with a coupling, or hollow, to fit directly onto the machine shaft), the type of electrical output (push-pull, line driver, open collector or fieldbus for the absolute types), and the power supply voltage, along with the required IP protection rating for the environment.
