What linear guides can be found on shop.atti.it?
On shop.atti.it, ATTI, THK distributor, offers THK and AirTac ball recirculating linear guides, along with their respective carriages and accessories, in various sizes; AirTac guides are also available in a miniaturized version in stainless steel. ATTI also has an internal cutting center to provide guides at the requested length.
What does the preload of a linear guide mean?
The preload is a slight interference between the balls and the raceways of the carriage, achieved during the production phase. It increases the rigidity of the guide and eliminates play, but it also increases the resistance to sliding. A light or no preload is suitable for smooth movements with moderate loads; a medium or high preload is used on machines that require rigidity and precision, such as machine tools or axes subjected to vibrations and cantilever loads.
