The cMT-iR family of remote I/O modules was developed by Weintek to integrate seamlessly with the HMI family, but it can also be easily used with any third-party PLC compatible with Modbus TCP, CANopen, and EtherCAT Ethernet communication systems. These remote I/O modules are characterized by excellent cycle time performance (less than 1 ms for some digital modules), achieved through the use of a proprietary internal bus called I-BUS.
Another key feature of the cMT-iR modules is the wide range of available options and the characteristics of the individual modules. The analog and temperature modules, for example, are fully configurable, and signal scaling can be defined directly within the module, thereby eliminating the need for PLC management. In addition, an adjustable filter ensures greater accuracy even in the presence of noise. The conversion time of a cMT-iR analog module is just 2 ms and can be as low as 50 µs when using a single channel.
