What is the difference between metric timing pulleys and inch timing pulleys?
Metric timing pulleys and inch timing pulleys are primarily distinguished by the pitch and profile of the teeth.
- Metric timing pulleys: use pitches expressed in millimeters and include the T, AT, and HTD profiles.
- Inch timing pulleys: use pitches expressed in fractions of an inch and include the XL, L, H, and XH profiles.
Belt and pulley must have the same profile and pitch. Different types are not directly interchangeable, even when sizes appear similar.
