Incremental Encoders

Incremental Encoders: precise, fast, and reliable

Incremental encoders are electromechanical devices designed to detect rotary or linear movements with high precision, emitting pulses on channels A and B in quadrature that indicate both displacement and direction. Some models also include a Z channel (reference index) or fault signals for more advanced usage.

These encoders do not provide absolute position but require an electronic interface capable of counting pulses and determining instantaneous position.

Thanks to the ‘Express 48’ service, it is possible to receive customized models in just 5 days from the order, subject to availability of the components and the Eltra encoder models you need. 

Ideal for high-speed applications and dynamic control, incremental encoders are used in industrial automation, robotics, motion control, CNC, and material handling, thanks to their ability to provide real-time data on speed, acceleration, and relative position.
