The THK grooved ball recirculation shafts represent an innovative solution for linear systems, wherein the balls housed in the grooved sleeve transmit torque while moving on precision ground tracks. Unlike traditional solutions, a single sleeve can also be preloaded, ensuring greater rigidity and operational stability.
This technology ensures high performance even in environments subject to vibrations and shocks, in cases where a high degree of positioning precision or high-speed movements are required.
Compared to a conventional linear sleeve, a THK grooved shaft offers a load capacity up to 10 times higher at the same diameter, allowing for a more compact design and ideal use in applications with radial and/or moment loads.
Thanks to the ball recirculation technology, these components provide fast, quiet, and play-free movements.
Lobed Shafts with Ball Recirculation
These models of THK lobed shafts are designed to ensure high torsional torque transmission thanks to the expansions present on the circumference. The ball recirculation sliding system ensures fast, smooth, and quiet movements, even at high speeds, making them ideal for industrial applications that require precision and reliability.
The lobed grooved shaft does not exhibit angular backlash: the preload of the balls between the grooved nut and the shaft provides high structural rigidity. The special configuration features 3 equidistant ribs at 120°, each supported by 2 rows of balls, for a total of 6 rows under load, benefiting precision and stability.
The LBS model represents the high torque version, ideal for industrial applications where maximum reliability and torsional resistance are required.
Lobed Shafts with Ball Recirculation
Grooved shafts with THK ball recirculation technology, an advanced solution distinguished by ease of raw machining and availability in flanged or cylindrical versions. The ball recirculation system ensures fast, smooth, and quiet movements, even at high speeds, ensuring precision and operational continuity.
The grooved shafts are available with four or six rows of balls, which act on four or six rolling tracks, depending on the model. The angle of arrangement of the balls, the circular arc grooves with a radius close to that of the balls, and the applicable preload allow to eliminate angular rotation play and increase the rigidity of the system. These components feature high radial load capacity and excellent torque transmission, making them ideal for demanding industrial applications.
The LT model is the medium torque version, designed to combine high performance and versatility of use.
Lobed Shafts with Ball Recirculation
This model is designed to maintain the shaft fixed and allow the nut to rotate. The nut, in fact, integrates a bearing that allows the flanged outer part to rotate relative to the fixed inner part that performs the translation.
It is an ideal solution when the grooved rod must operate at high speeds or over significant lengths, as in these cases the groove can remain stationary or move at very low speeds.
The LTR model is a compact rotary motion unit, equipped with integrated support bearings directly in the outer surface of the grooved nut, ensuring reliability, rigidity, and ease of installation.
