This motor is characterized by a constant rotational speed, independent of the load, but linked to the frequency of the power supply.
The synchronous motor maintains its rotational speed until it is overloaded.
When overloaded, the motor disengages, that is, it stops and ends up in an oscillatory motion (vibration).
There are 2 main families of synchronous gear motors:
- 1 direction of rotation in this case it is necessary to define whether the required motor will turn clockwise or counterclockwise
- 2 directions of rotation in this case it will be necessary to use a capacitor to define the direction of rotation
