What is an FRL group and what is the function of the coalescing filter?
The FRL group is a unit for compressed air treatment composed of three elements:
- Filter (F): retains impurities and condensate present in the compressed air.
- Regulator (R): maintains the air pressure at the set value.
- Lubricator (L): when necessary, introduces a controlled amount of lubricant into the air to supply the pneumatic components that require it.
The coalescing filter is a finer filtration device, generally a coalescing type, that allows for the separation of particles and oil aerosols present in the compressed air. It is particularly useful in applications that require cleaner air.
