V-Belts transmit motion through friction and are used on pumps, fans, compressors, and machines in general, in classic profiles (Z, A, B, C), narrow (SPZ, SPA, SPB, SPC), and notched (AX, BX, XPZ, XPA…). Toothed belts (HTD, T, AT, GT, and other profiles) transmit motion without slipping and are used where a precise ratio is needed, such as in positioning and linear axes. The quickest way is to read the code printed on the back of the belt and search for it on shop.atti.it, for example “SPB 1250” for a trapezoidal belt or “800-8M-30” for a HTD synchronous belt. The code indicates profile, length, and for synchronous belts, pitch and width. If the code is no longer legible, you can measure the section and length of the belt, or derive the data from the pulleys and the center distance. For synchronous belts, it is also advisable to count the number of teeth.
